Bonn: Supreme of all West German armed forces : General Heinrich Trettner (left) has resigned .... hot on the heals of the sacking of air force chief Lieutenant-General Werner Panitzki, for criticising his Ministerial bosses. Panitzki (right) was unhappy about the recent Starfighter crashes.. and said so in public. Trettner objected to a trade union being given permission to recruit members in the armed forces ... and said so in public. Man most involved with the situation is Defence Minister Kai-Uwe von Hassel (centre) ... and he hasn't said anything, yet.
