Scope and content

Hazardous daily trip for Breakers' men.
Cable line to stranded warship.
Penzance, Eng: Swinging over the sullen, heavy waves pounding incessantly on the Cornish rocks is a slender cable- life-line of workmen dismantling the hulk of the battleship 'Warspite', 31,000 tons veteran of two world wars now rusting in Prussia Cove near here. The cable is the only means by which workmen can get to the hulk, which hey are breaking up. They make the journey across the sea several times a day. The 'Warspite', condemned for scrap, broke adrift in a gale some months ago while being towed to the breakers yards in Scotland. She went aground in Prussia Cove and it was decided to strip her where she lay.
PHOTO SHOWS: workmen swinging across the slender cable connecting the 'Warspite' with the land. They sit in chairs which are wound across the cable by comrades on shore.
