Hailed as an outstanding suspenseful colour drama, Edward L. Alperson's production of "Invaders From Mars." Twentieth Century-Fox release opening tomorrow at the Empire Theatre, offers a cast of brilliant players in an amazing story of terrifying visitors from space who come to wreck the earth.
The thrilling melodrama, starring Helena carter, Arthur Franz and Jimmy Hunt, has as its locale an open countryside in America where deadly Martians contaminate their victims.
Discovered by a young astronomer enthusiast, played by Jimmy Hunt, the Martians descend to earth in a mysterious spaceship on a nearby field and immediately disappear into the ground. The situation becomes calamitous when no one will believe the boy's story.
Subsequent thrilling developments take place. In a fight with the U.S. Army these men from space are finally overcome, but not until they have terrorised the citizens of the community and spread destruction with their infra-red guns.
