Moscow: Major Gherman Stepanovich Titov, the second Soviet cosmonaut who landed safely today after orbitting the earth 17 times, is pictured here being trained on a centrifuge device before take-off.
Moscow Radio said Titov landed in "Vostok II" at 8.18 a.m. (BST) at a "pre-arranged spot" near the landing place of Major Yuri Gagarin, the first Russian spaceman. He is "feeling well".
