The Crown Prince with ship's Captain
"Sweden's Crown Prince Here"
How would it be for a prince to work with commoers?
We got the answer from the 'horse's mouth', so to speak. Yesterday we had the opportunity of speaking to the Crown Prince of Sweden, Carl Gustaf on board His Swedish Majesty's ship 'Alvsnabben', which berthed at the Colombo harbour while on a round-the-world-training cruise.
He was ushered on to the deck to meet the Press by the ship's Captain Lindgrun. Dressed in an ordinary naval cadet's uniform, the Prince did not reveal any signs of embarrassment, working along with his fellow cadets.
"I enjoy working with my colleagues" he said in reply to questions from the Press and naturally feeling a little bit shy before his captain. "Nor do my colleagues feel embarrassed to work with me" added, the 20-year-old handsome prince.
Prince Gustaf, the grandson of the present King of Sweden elected to service in the Navy as his compulsory military service period.
But the Prince will shed the cadet's uniforms for a brief period to lunch with the Governor - General and pay a visit to the Prime Minister tomorrow (Dec. 21st)
