Scope and content
Only one passenger was killed — he was 21-year-old soldier, David Birch of Bedford — but 50 people were injured when the 7.10 p.m. St. Pancras to Derby express train ripped into the rear of the 6.45 Luton to Leicester slow train as it waited in Luton Station on December 22nd. The last two coaches of the 6.45 were derailed and two were telescoped.
