"Aboard Carrier Wasp": America's latest space pair, the Majors' Edward White and James McDivitt share telephone aboard the USS Wasp late yesterday to talk to their President, Lyndon B. Johnson.
The President told the couple that they had written their names "in history and in our hearts". The President invited them to visit him at his Texas ranch this week-end. He said he had been saving a little something for them.
President Johnson told McDivitt and White, "What you have done will never be forgotten".
