Aboard Carrier Wasp: The two American astronauts launched into orbit on June 3rd, "splashed down" safely by parachute in the Atlantic 400 miles from Bermuda yesterday. They came down 48 miles from the main recovery vessel, the carrier wasp and the men, Major James McDivitt (35) right, the flight commander, and Major Edward White (34) are shown saluting Admiral McCormick and Capt. Connel aboard the Wasp. Their space mission had lasted 97 hours, 57 minutes and had taken in 62 orbits of the earth.
