Louis Prima and Keely Smith, currently the hottest team in show business star in Columbia Pictures' "Hey Boy! Hey Girl," which opens at the Empire Theatre on Thursday.
James Gregory, Sam Butera and the Witnesses, Henry Slate, Kim Charmey and Barbara Heller are also importantly cast in the film.
In the film, Louis, playing himself, and Miss Kealy meet during one of his band's engagements. In return for Prima's playing at a bazaar held by Gregory's church. Keely agrees to audition as vocalist for his aggregation.
Their flowering professional and personal relationship is almost spoiled by Charney, Keely's kid brother, who is hostile to Prima. How Louis overcomes the youngster's dislike saves Keely as vocalist and wins her as his wife, is said to make an hilarious sequence.
