Scope and content

More and more people are becoming of the locally made products which can be bought in most of the Colombo shops. The variety is exciting and the materials used varied and attractive. While silver, copper and brass remain the more highly priced bracket, materials like wood and clay are inexpensive and make the most elegant ornaments. Many of the locally-produced articles are equal to anything that is imported and the skill of the local craftsman usually enhances the material with which he works.
Featured on this page are three good examples of the skill of the local craftsmen, in silver and brass.
