"Airs of Sri Lanka" by Carilloneur Shelton Silva will be on the air over the Commercial Service of Radio Ceylon (English at 2 p.m) on Independence Day February 4th.
For the first time in Ceylon you will hear popular oriental tunes like 'Handepane' 'Olu Pipeela', 'Yamuna', played on the carillon.
The compositions of Rev. Marcelline Jayakody, Sunil Santha and P. L. A. Somapala will be featured in this programme. The music has been carefully arranged within a range of three chromatic octaves.
