Scope and content

This is how Seruwila sacred dagoba shined like a pure white bubble emerging from the earth, causing joy in devotees, at the 84,000 oil lamps offering ceremony on the sacred grounds of Seruwila, reminding the spectators of Lord Buddha's epigram, "Aloko Udapadi" in "Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta". This oil lamp offering was commenced in acknowledgement of the development of Seruwila ancient sacred grounds, which was pioneered initially by King Kavantissa, the father of King Dutugemunu who was awarded the title, the Great Commander-in-Chief of Sinhala Line of Kings (Rajavaliya).
