A dramatic scene from the highly acclaimed film "Zorba the Greek", a 20th Century - Fox release which won 3 academy awards.
Anthony Quinn, Alan Bates and Irene Papas co-star in the film directed by the Greek film-maker, Michael Cacoyannis. It will be screened shortly at the Savoy.
Anthony Quinn, in the title role of 20th Century - Fox's "Zorba the Greek" and and Alan Bates, young British star, gaze at the kneeling figure of Irene Papas in a dramatic scene where the woman seeks sanctuary from enraged Islanders who would slay her. Michael Cacoyannis directs this drama adapted from Nobel Prize Winner, Nikos Kazantsakis' poignant story of how a primitive man brings new meaning to the life of a lost intellectual.
