Air-sea rescue operations are included among the many jobs performed by the helicopter units of the United States forces, and here an air force helicopter hoists a crew member of a wrecked army tug grounded on a reef less than a mile off the coast of Okinawa. All crew members were evacuated from the tug, after pounding surf forced water-tight doors open, flooding the vessel.
