A rare demonstration of affection was the farewell given by the workers of Liddesdale Estate, Halgranoya,to the superintendent, Mr. R.C.P.(Dick) Adams, Mrs.Adams who leave Ceylon this month after 30 years,15 of which have been spent on Liddesdale. Mr. and Mrs Adams were conducted in a decorated chariot in procession to a dais,where they were met by Mr. and Mrs.Beadon. School children rendered songs of welcome and received of a profusion of garlands, followed by a variety entertainment. Presentations then followed. Mr.J.Austin Dickson takes over from Mr.Adams.
