"A Royal Romance"
An announcement by Count Carl-Reinhold, von Essen, Master of the Swedish Royal Household states that Mr. Robin Douglas-Home of London, had asked for the hand in marriage of Princess Margaretha of Sweden.
His suit has been refused.
Princess Margareta, aged 22, is grand-daughter of King Gustav VI. Mr. Douglas-Home, aged 25, is a nephew of the Earl of Home, Leader of the Conservative Party in the House of Lords. He works for a London advertising agency and is also a pianist. The couple met when Princess Margaretha was staying in London from September 1956 to March of this year when she had to return to Sweden.
