"Princess Birgitta of Sweden Dances the Samba"
Tired of old-fashioned waltzes requested by her elders at a state ball, 19-year-old Princess Birgitta asked the band to play a samba. Fortunately, her partner really knew how to dance this lively South American rhythm, and the gay young Princess found relief from the more usual sedate court steps. The Princess, who was born on the 19th January, 1937, is the second daughter of Princess Sibylle and the late Prince Gustaf Adolf.
