Arriving in Ceylon yesterday was Sweden's young Crown Prince Carl Gustaf.
The prince, who is not yet 21, arrived here aboard the Naval cadet ship Alvsnabben—as a member of the crew.
All males in Sweden are required to perform a minimum of 10 months' military service. The Prince is now performing his.
The grandson of the present ruler King Adolphus VI, Prince Carl's Father, who would have been next in succession to the throne was killed in an air crash some years ago.
The cadet ship will remain in port for four days, during which time the Prince will visit places of interest in the Island and also call on the Governor-General, who is in Kandy and the Prime Minister.
The ship will leave for Australia on Thursday.
