Mr. P. S. Menon, the Indian Government Visa officer, in Kandy will retire at the end of June.
Mr. Menon started life as a journalist while he was in India. He entered Government service in 1926, and was transfereed to Kandy to the office of the then Agent of the Government of India where he served in various capacities and rose to the position of Agent in 1950.
He was associated with the Indian Agency which was then popularly known as the Raj Agent's Office.
He has been associated with the management of the Home for Disabled Labourers since its inception in 1936. He was also associated with the Ceylon Estate Workers Education Trust which awards scholarships to children of the estate workers.
