"Invention of a bicycle" today means discovery of a thing already known. Still, there are enthusiasts who defy the saying-literally-trying to improve this simple vehicle.
Nikolai Sokolovsky, automation designer of the Byelorussian MAZ auto working in Minsk, developed a bicycle, driven both by feet and hands and steered by turning the spine. The cycle has a vertical bar behind the saddle which is connected through wires to the front wheel. The rider rotating foot and hand pedals, does not lose his balance even at sharp bends. Numerous cycling fans have liked Sokolovsky's original vehicle; riding this bicycle strengthens all the muscles of the body.
