The name 'Yuri' is quite common in Russia. But most of us heard it and had it firmly fixed in our minds by this century's greatest feat in space flight — the first and up to date, only orbital flight.
Above is Yuri Gagarin's YAK-18 on which he as a student of aviation in 1955, learnt his flying.
The plane has now been transferred to the Saratov Aviation Club for good to the possession of the District Study Museum.
