Mrs. Luoilie Vogeler, wife of Mr. Robert Vogeler, aged 38, the American businessman sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for alleged espionage last February, paid a call on Mr. Acheson, American Secretary of State, at the U.S. Embassy here. Mr. Acheson is in London for the 3-power talks.
The meeting was to discuss what steps might be taken to secure the release of Mr.Vogeler, whose wife flew here specially from Vienna for the interview.
It was reported in Vienna yesterday that the Hungarian-Supreme Court had rejected the appeals by Mr.Vogeler and Mr. Edgar Sanders, the Briton who was tried with him and sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment.
