Mr. Robert Heanley, U.K., representative of the Australian Canned Fruits Board, presenting cans of fruit to the Mayor of Lambeth, Councillor C. F. Hart, at the Oval after Surrey had been beaten by 10-wickets by the Australian tourists. For every century made by an Australian on the present tour the Australian Canned Fruits Board will present the appropriate number of cans of fruit to the local authority, whichever the particular ground is situated, for charity. In the first innings of the Surrey-Australia match, Lawry made 165, and so 165 cans of fruit were presented. Since then McDonald, made 100, Lawry 100, Booth 113, and Mackay 106 against Cambridge and Harvey and O'Neil 117 and 124 respectively against Giamorgan.
