For the last 10 years, Mr. A. G. Rebera unanimously re-elected as Hony. Treasurer of the Mercantile Amateur Athletic Assoiation, which is today one of the biggest sports organisations in the Mercantile sector.
He was first elected to office, when this Association was only catering for track and field athletics but today, the Mercantile AAA also caters for Tennis, Netball, Swimming and Basketball.
Hockey, too, was started in the Mercantile sector as an allied activity of the Mercantile AAA during his period of office, but this section was compelled to break away and form a separate association.
During his tenure of office as Hony. Treasurer of the Mercantile AAA, Mr. Rebera, has done much to improve the finances of this body. His accounting was so perfect, that there has been never a query over accounts at the annual general meetings.
In recognition of his services to the Association, he was elected a vice-president as well, this year.
He is an accountant at Messrs Delmege Forsyth and Co. Ltd., and in spite of his arduous job, has found time to maintain the finances of the Mercantile AAA in a very sound position.
