Scope and content
Mishree La Jaiswal, a follower of the Buddha, has traveled more than 86,000 miles on his bicycle through 56 countries, appealing for world peace through non-violence. He arrived in Tokyo last week from Canada on the next leg of his round-the-world peace mission. Jaiswal left his home in Chas, Bihar state, India, on April 4th, 1952, carrying a message, calling upon the nations to maintain world peace, which he submits to government leaders of the countries he visits. From Japan, he plans to visit Hongkong, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and other countries in South East Asia, before returning to India. The medals on his vest were presented by people during his tour.
