This is the goods train from Gal Oya to Maho which collided with another goods train near the Railway Running Shed at Maho at 10.15 a.m. on Sunday. The other train which had arrived at Maho earlier was shunting in the yard. About 10 wagons were damaged and a few were derailed. Both engines were damaged and one empty wagon (the largest attached to the train from Gal Oya) mounted a wagon which was loaded with cattle. The driver of the train from Gal OYa, Mr. J.D. Gomez, and his assistant, and the driver of the other train Mr. A.P.D. Gunasekara, and the Under-Guard Mr. E. Thanagavelu sustained injuries and were admitted to the Maho hospital.
