A woman named Baby was pinned under this lorry for nearly 30 minutes when it rolled down an embankment on the Narahenpita Road yesterday afternoon. The lorry was loaded with blocks of ice, the woman was lying in a drain pinned by one of the wheels of the lorry. Prompt action was taken by Inspector K.O Wilmon who happened to be passing by with a batch of police training recruits. He telephoned a nereby garage for a crane. The woman was extricated and taken to hospital in a state of collapse. One of her legs was fractured. The driver and cleaner had left the vehicle and disappeared. Traffic was held up for over an hour.
