Gentleman Jumper:
Lord Mildmay Leads Amateurs

With the advance of the jumping season, the list of leading jockeys is beginning to form solid shape. Well ahead of his fellow amateurs is six-foot Lord Mildmay of Flete, with 12 winners to date. Lord Mildmay will always be remembered as the unlucky loser of the 1936 Grand National when a broken rein deprived him of almost certain triumph.
Picture shows: Lord Mildmay of Flete in racing colours.

For first publication in evening papers Tuesday December 9th 1947.
