Scope and content
It is quite a big event if one learns how to drive a tractor during the "Day of lessons in production". Some pupils of the 9th forms of Miltits, Burkhardswalde and Taubenheim, in the GDR county of Dresden, can do it during their 4-yeat training in agricultural animal and plant production.
The "Day of lessons in production" is carried through for all pupils of the 7th to 10th forms twice a month in agricultural and industrial production enterprises. Its central aim is to make the youths familiar with production labor as early as possible and to give them a first look into the variety of industrial and agricultural production. The production of material values doesn't play any role. In many cases, t he pupils decide for a profession later on in one of the industrial branches they know already from their "Day of lessons in production".
