Leaders of Rok Coup d'état -- Clad in the combat outfit, Lt. Gen. Kim Sung Eun (left), the Commander of the Marine Corps of the Republic of Korea, stands with Lt. Gen. Choi Kyung Rok (right), Army Chief of Staff. (when the picture was taken) The two three-star ROK generals are believed to have played an important role in the military coup d'état of May 16 that toppled the government of Premier John M. Chang in a matter of few hours. The picture was taken during the mock amphibious operation by the ROK marines at Inchon last autumn in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the reseizure of Seoul.
