    "Cheers! Johnny is Home"
It's smiles all round as Johnny Haynes, a 26-year-old England and Fulham captain, arrives back in London last night (28.6.62). But it was a journey to remember for Johnny, six days after he was injured in a car crash. From a Blackpool hospital he was taken by ambulance to Ringway Airport, Manchester, to fly home. But then came.... SNAG No. 1: Johnny, on a stretcher with both legs in plaster, could not fly as the plane was not equipped to carry him. So arrangements were made for him to travel by train. While Johnny and Fulham manager Bedford Jezzard waited, they were served a meal in the ambulance. SNAG Np. 2: At Euston Station, London, a car was waiting. But it was too small — so an emergency call for an ambulance had to be sent out.
