Scope and content

If you think that's a rather surprised look on Jimmy Greaves's face, it's because the ball has just struck a photographer in the face and broken his glasses. It was picture taking day at Cheshunt, Spurs' practice ground, and the cameraman were all lined up for a demonstration of the Greaves flying scissors shot. "Sorry," said Jimmy to his victim. "I aimed towards you because you were the smallest. I thought the ball would go over your head. I'll try it again. . . ." Wham! What a shot!! Straight through the back window of another photographer's car!! "Sorry," said Jimmy. "Pack it in," said manager Bill Nicholson. And he did.
