The "House on the Stone" is one of the remarkable architectonic rarities to be admired in the Yemen Arab Republic. Situated in Wadi Dhar region near the capital of Sana, it is looked upon as a lasting testimony to Yemen architecture of earlier centuries. Still 21 years ago, however, a messenger of the imam lived there whose henchmen terrorised peasants of Wadi Dhar. Today, the house on the rock is made accessible to guests of the government in the Yemen Arab Republic.
