Astronaut James Lovell, newly appointed White House special consultant on physical fitness, with President Johnson in Washington. Mr. Lovell will also continue his duties with the Manned Space Flight Center in Houston, Texas. As command pilot of the Gemini-7 and gemini-12 flights, he logged over 400 hours in space, more than any other person. In his new assignment, he will head the President's Council on Physical Fitness, an agency established in 1963 to recommend and support programs for improving the health and physical fitness of Americans.
