A policeman, surrounded by an anguished crowd, carrying away a wounded child to safety in Aberfan mining village which was engulfed by thousands of tons of coal pit waste recently. The coal waste moved like an avalanche wiping out an infants' school and many houses in the quiet village. The death toll was over 125.
