The Grand National Steeplechase – the toughest horse race in the world – was won at Aintree, near Liverpool, by "Sundew" owned by Mrs. G. Kohn and ridden by F. Winter. "Wyndburgh" with M. Batchelor up was second, and "Tiberetta" with A. Oughton up, third.
