After a 2,000 miles overland journey the three Russian horses Reljef, Epigraff II and Grifel have finally landed at Harwich, England. With them were two jockeys, Vladimar Prachov and Ivan Avdeyev. Another jockey Boris Ponomarenko, flew into Britain on Friday. (10-3-61). A veterinary officer who examined the horses soon after arrival said they were remarkable fit. Today (13-3-61) Mr. Khrushchev's racing trio will be taken to Liverpool by rail and then they will go onto their training H.Q. at nearby Haydock Park racecourse. Police will guard the horses from the time they arrive at Haydock Park until they go to the post at Aintree. Stable foreman Fred Good has the job of preparing the horses' food.
