Scope and content
This was the agony of 'Hindlea', a ship dashed to pieces by the fury of the gale and the savage rocks on to which she was driven. She met her doom on the rugged coast of Anglesey, at Moelfre. The 'Hindlea' was one of hundred of little ships pummelled by giant waves during last week's gales in the British Isles. There were eight men aboard her when she began drifting towards the rocks. They owed their lives to the lifeboatmen of Moelfre, who made 10 runs alongside the ship before they go the crew off. It was all in the brave tradition of the sea. And while the 'Hindlea' tore herself to pieces on the rocks, the men who nearly died in her went to a little chapel to sing a hymn of thanksgiving.
