Fire-fighter crouches away from the heat, as this Lotus Mark 2 racing car blazes with its trapped driver still at the controls. The driver, well known racing motorist Nikolai Kazarovitsky died in the inferno which happened so quickly that it was impossible for anyone to save him. He was on his way to take part in the Elaintarha race when his car suddenly slid the other side of the highway smashing into an oncoming car. The passengers of the other car were badly injured.
