A joint building project Ethiopia-GDR-Cuba, Ethiopia's largest cement works is under construction at New Mugher situated some 100 kilometres away from Addis Ababa capital. The annual production capacity is planned to amount to 300,000 tons. Thus, Ethiopia's cement production will be increased threefold as compared with the present figure.
