The winners of the Tissa-Wellawaya electoral division's regional competition completed a route from Debarawewa to Kataragama and returned via Hambantota back to Debarawewa. The winner Sunil Edirisooriya received his prize money from Dr. P.M.B. Cyril, the district minister of Hambantota, minister of Tissamaharama. The event was held at the Tissa Town Council Ground. The sponsor of the Deepa Charika, Jinadasa Guruge and Tissa Iddamalgoda of the organizing committee are visible in the picture.
