The prime crew of Apollo 12 stands in front of the Lunar Module. From left to right, Charles Conrad Jr., Commander of the Apollo-12 mission; Richard F. Gordon, Jr., Command Module Pilot, and Alan L. Bean, Lunar Module Pilot. In front of them to the left is the Lunar Surface Magnetometer which, when deployed on the surface will measure the magnetic properties of the moon. At right is the Solar Wind Experiment which is designed to measure medium energy ranges of the solar wind particles.—(IPS).
