U.S. Astronaut Charles Conrad (left) explains the planned rendezvous of Gemini-5 as Astronaut Gordon Cooper listens at a July 19 news conference in Houston, Texas. Cooper and Conrad are the prime crew for the eight-day orbital earth flight scheduled during August. The Gemini-5 spacecraft will carry a Rendezvous Evaluation Pod unit that the astronauts will eject and then chase for rendezvous attempts.
