Scope and content
The King's colt Blue Train, highly fancied for the Derby, justified the faith placed in him by winning the important Newmarket S-Y-O Stakes at Newmarket this afternoon (Wednesday). H. R.H, Princess Elizabeth, making her first appearance in public since the Royal Family returned from South Africa, saw her father's horse, with Gordon Richards in the saddle, score a popular and stylish victory over Maj. (..) Cayzer's White Horses, ridden by W. Carr. Third was Lord Rosebery's Coup Napoleon (D. Smith up). Blue Train is trained by F. Darling at Beckhampton.
