Scope and content
Pictured listing badly in the storm-swept waters of the North Atlantic off the Halifax coast recently, was the British cargo ship, AMBASSADOR (foreground), whose engines were flooded by heavy seas during the night leaving her floundering helplessly. In the background is the Italian liner, LEONARDO DA VINCI, which rushed to the aid of the stricken vessel. First reports said that three men had been rescued when the Norwegian ship, FRUEN, passed a line to the AMBASSADOR. Air and sea searchers rushed to the rescue of the survivors.
