Two men were in this cart just before this picture was taken. Both the men escaped with minor injuries. The car driver was found dazed sitting on the back seat with his arms around one of the trees in the picture. \his passenger was spread eagled across the front and back seats. After being dragged from the wreckage the men were taken to the hospital with shock and cuts. The crash happened on the dual carriage way at Eastern Avenue, Ilford Essex. A driver and his mate changing a punctured tyre heard a thud at the back of their lorry—and found the car impaled on their load of timber.
A policeman said: "It's a miracle how both men came out of this alive". The men in the car were Mr. David Hill, of Primsore-glen, Hornehureh, and Mr. Frank Marchant, of Squirrel's Heath, Harold Wood.
