Cape Kennedy, Florida: American Astronaut Gordon Cooper leads fellow space traveller Peter Conrad up the ramp to their waiting Titan II rocket and Gemini spacecraft as they arrived at launch complex 19 here today at the beginning of their eight-day orbital flight.
The space pair were scheduled to blast off at 10 am (EDT)., 14.00 hours (GMT) on mission which is equivalent to a trip to the moon and back. They are due to make 122 orbits of the world and practice "rendezvous" with another satellite.
