Scope and content

Photo shows Ethiopian soldiers marching into the Jubilee Palace Courtyard in Addis Ababa, where the gate on the right has been gutted during the recent bloody proceedings there.
It was announced yesterday that on Friday 16th December the rebels massacred fifteen ministers - they were taken into an ante-room, lined up and shot. A government spokesman said that 1,000 rebel guards had surrendered in response to the Emperor's announcement of forgiveness for those who laid down under their arms. All heavy weapons had been recaptured and communications had been restored.
