Scope and content
In Ethiopia hundreds of students are being trained at the Imperial Telecommunications Institute to meet the country's need for personnel to manage and operate the expanding network of communications. At the Institute, which was set up by the Government in 1953, courses are given in languages, mathematics, electricity, telephony, Morse Code, engineering drawing, business administration, radio theory, etc. The International Telecommunication Union, a United Nations specialized agency, assisted with the establishment of the Institute and in providing several instructors.
Shown here is a part of the Filwoha telephone exchange, Addis Ababa.
