This Commission was appointed on 17th December 1965, by Governor General for the purpose of inquiry into and reporting on the Following matters.
The Causes that led to the strike by a section of the student body of the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya, on or about December 1965. The events and incidents that led to the securing of Police assistance by the ministry authories on the 11th December 1965. Whether the above mentioned strike on motivation, investigation or encourage any person Group of persons or any Organization outside the student body of the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya and if so, who were responsible and for what purpose this was done.
This Commission comprised of N.A.De Silva Wijesekera as Commissioner and A.M.L.Marrikar as Secretary.
The report of the Commission was published as a sessional paper No.3 of 1966.
